Trivia

    Album

  • This film's premise was derived from Chetan Bhagat's novel "Five Point Someone". Director Rajkumar Hirani had bought the rights for the book and credited the book and author in the film's end credits. In interviews, Hirani had said that the film's script had been written from scratch and the film had only minor similarities with the book. These statements and the placement of credit had apparently left Chetan Bhagat feeling cheated.[1]
  • Before finalising Aamir Khan for the film's lead role, director Raj Kumar Hirani had approached Shah Rukh Khan, who had declined the role.
  • The inventions in this film were drawn from the real-life inventions of Remya Joseph, Jehangir Painter and Mohammed Idris. The film's success inspired producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra to announce a fund for these inventors.[2]
  • The film and a song featured in it popularised the catchphrase "All is well" and inspired the title of a 2015 film.[3]
