• This was Akshay Kumar's debut film. The actor, whose real name is Rajiv Bhatia, later took on the screen name of Akshay after the name of Kumar Gaurav's character in this film. His first film in a leading role was "Saugandh" (1991).[1][2]
• This film was directed by Mahesh Bhatt. However, he was not officially credited for it and the film's opening credits and publicity material simply credited it as "A film by Kuljit Pal".
• This was the only film featuring Anamika Pal, producer Kuljit Pal's daughter.
• This film was in the making for a few years. The film's audio records were released in 1985 but the film itself was released only in 1987.
• The film opened with a dedication to Smita Patil. The dedication read "We dedicate this film to the greatest actress of all times".
