Trivia

    Album

  • A sub-plot of this film was inspired by Steven Spielberg's thriller film "Jaws" (1975).
  • This film was many years in the making. Desh Mukherjee had launched this film after the failure of his film "Immaan Dharam" (1977) but it was shelved after many delays. The film was eventually bought, wrapped up shoddily and released by Prem Lalwani. Some of the film's actors, Amjad Khan, Vinod Mehra and Keshto Mukherjee, passed away before the film's release and their voices were dubbed by other artists.[1][2]

    Song

  • Saanwariya Main Khadi Rahoon Ki Chali Jaoon Re (Mori Patli Kamar Lambe Baal Re) - It appears that it was Lata Mangeshkar who suggested the tune for the mukhda of this song to Laxmikant - Pyarelal. In an interview, she said that had learnt the tune from her maternal grandmother. Laxmikant - Pyarelal had used the same tune previously for "Meri Patli Kamar Lambe Baal Re Saanwariya Main Khadi Rahoon Ki Chali Jaoon Re" ("Mere Lal", 1966). C. Ramchandra had also used the tune previously for "Tu Na Aaya Aur Hone Lagi Shaam Re Saanwariya Main Khadi Rahoon Ki Chali Jaoon Re" ("Aasha", 1957).[3][4][5]
