Trivia

    Album

  • The film's opening credits billed Nargis as the "Best Actress Award Winner at Karlovy Vary". This was a reference to the award she won for "Mother India" (1957) at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.[1]

    Song

  • Ja Ja Re Ja Saajna (Sad) - The happy and sad versions of this song were issued as separate recordings on two sides of the original 78 rpm records. However, these songs were mixed together in a single song sequence in the film. In this sequence, the sad version sung by Lata Mangeshkar was filmed on Nargis and alternated with the happy version sung by Asha Bhosle, which was filmed on Roopmala. This mixed, film version of the two songs was used in later music releases by Saregama.
  • Unko Yeh Shikayat Hai Ki Hum Kuch Nahin Kahte - In a mushaira scene in the film, Nargis's character renders the 'matla' and the first two couplets of this ghazal in a traditional mushaira tune without any instrumentation. The singer of this version of the ghazal remains unidentified.
  • Unko Yeh Shikayat Hai Ki Hum Kuch Nahin Kahte - The scene in which the mushaira version of this song is sung offered a brief glimpse of a Sikh man in the audience. This was music director Sardul Kwatra making an uncredited cameo appearance in the film. This was his home production.
