Trivia

    Album

  • This was the last film in which Rajesh Khanna and Tina Munim worked together. They were rumoured to be in a romantic relationship in the early 1980s. Tina Munim eventually left Rajesh Khanna because he allegedly reneged on his promise to divorce his wife Dimple Kapadia and marry her. She went on to marry the industrialist Anil Ambani in 1991.[1]
  • This film was adapted from the Pakistani film "Qurbani" (1981), directed by Pervez Malik. "Qurbani" (1981) itself was based on the Hollywood sports drama "The Champ" (1979), starring Jon Voight and Faye Dunaway, which in turn was a remake of the 1931 film of the same title. "The Champ" (1979) was adapted for another Hindi film, "Rustom (The Champion)" (1982), starring Dara Singh and Tanuja. Another film featuring Rajesh Khanna and Tina Munim, "Alag Alag" (1985), was also based on a Pervez Malik film, "Mehrbani" (1982).[2][3]
