Trivia

    Album

  • The actors in the film played fictionalised versions of their real selves. The film's title was derived from the names of its lead actors, Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. It was conceived seven years ago based on a concept written by Vikramaditya Motwane's Amsterdam-based friend Avinash Sampath. The film was originally supposed to feature Anurag Kashyap and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles and was titled "AK Vs SK". It was shelved in 2016 when Kapoor backed out due to his busy schedule. The film was revived in 2019 with an updated script.[1][2][3]
  • This was the first film of Vikramaditya Motwane's production company Andolan. His mother Dipa De Motwane was credited as its producer.[4]
  • The film was directly released on Netflix. Its promotion was kicked off with a staged Twitter fight between Anurag Kashyap and Anil Kapoor. Netflix also put up billboards of insults supposedly exchanged between Kashyap and Kapoor.[5][6]
  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) objected to Anil Kapoor's IAF uniform in the film's trailer. They said that the uniform was "inaccurately donned" and that Kapoor's language was "inappropriate". They asked that the scenes showing Anil Kapoor in this uniform be removed from the film. Kapoor responded to the IAF with an apology and clarified that he was only playing an actor playing an IAF officer in the film.[7]
  • This was the first film that featured siblings Sonam Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor and their father Anil Kapoor together. The film was released on Anil Kapoor's 64th birthday, December 24 2020.
  • This was the debut Hindi film of TV actress Yogita Bihani.
  • The film had a scene featuring Anil Kapoor dancing to a popular song of his, "My Name Is Lakhan" ("Ram Lakhan", 1989).[8]
