Trivia

    Album

  • This was the last film in the trilogy of spooky thrillers Raj Khosla made with Sadhana. It was preceded by "Woh Kaun Thi" (1964), whose success triggered the trilogy, and "Mera Saaya" (1966).[1][2]
  • Raj Khosla dedicated the film to his mentor Guru Dutt. The dedication read - "Dedicated to the memory of my Guru". Khosla had started his film career as an assistant to Dutt.
  • The film's opening credits listed only Raja Mehdi Ali Khan as a lyricist. However, its audio records featured a song each written by Arzoo Lakhnavi and Anand Bakshi.
  • Satyendra Khosla, who was credited as Satyen Khosla in the film, got his screen name Birbal during its making. It was Manoj Kumar who suggested that he pick an easy to remember screen name that would suit his comic persona.
  • Some of the film's opening credits were printed in a sequence that showed the characters played by Sadhana and Sajjan arguing. The scene was shot through a window, with the credits printed above and below the window. Raj Khosla had previously used a similar technique in the opening credits of "Bombai Ka Babu" (1960).[3]

    Song

  • Gore Gore Chand Se Mukh Par - This was a rare Hindi film song that appeared in its entirety before the film's opening credits.
  • Gore Gore Chand Se Mukh Par - The tune of this song may have been inspired by S.D. Burman's "Kisko Khabar Thi Kisko Yakin Tha" ("Devdas", 1955).[4]
