Trivia

    Album

  • The success of this film resulted in it being remade in various languages. It was remade in Telugu as "Bharatamlo Arjunudu", starring Venkatesh, in Kannada as "Sangrama", starring Ravichandran, and in Tamil as "Sathya" (1988), starring Kamal Haasan.
  • This was the first film produced under the Cineyug banner.

    Song

  • Mamaiya Kero Kero Kero Mama - The hook line of this song was based on the popular Portuguese language song "Mama Eu Quero" originally recorded by Brazilian artists Vicente Paiva and Jararaca in 1937, and popularised by its English version, "I Want My Mama", by Carmen Miranda in 1940. The tune of "Mama Eu Quero" was previously used for the theme music of the opening credits of the film "Farar (Dev Anand In Goa)" (1955). The same tune was also used for the Tamil film song "Mammama Maamathe" ("Mangamma Sabatham", 1943), the Telugu film song "Mamayyochede Mama" ("Mangalasutram", 1946), the Hindi film song "Mamamma Mami Meharbaan Main Hoon Tumhari" ("Mangala", 1950), and the Telugu film song "Mammama Maamari" ("Mangala", 1951).[1][2][3][4][5][6]
  • Mamaiya Kero Kero Kero Mama - This song was recreated by Meet Bros Anjjan for the film "Paan Singh Tomar" (2012). The cover version was sung by K. Mohan.[7]
  • Munni Pappu Aur Chunmum - R.D. Burman had used the tune of this song earlier for the song "Raah Mein Kaliyan Khila Ke Yaar" ("Nafrat", 1973).[8]
