Trivia

    Album

  • This was Nitya Mehra's directorial debut.
  • The film's time-travel premise was compared with a few other films' - "Click" (2006), "The Time Traveler's Wife" (2009), and "Shuffle" (2011).
  • The film was launched with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as the leading pair. It was put on hold when Hrithik opted out. The film was re-launched with Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif.[1]
  • The film's title was inspired by a song from the film "China Town" (1962). The song was composed by Ravi, written by Majrooh Sultanpuri, and sung by Mohammed Rafi. Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif promoted the film with a Dubsmash of the Rafi song.[2][3]
  • Jasleen Royal debuted as a music director with two songs in this film.

    Song

  • Kho Gaye Hum Kahan - Singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad debuted as a singer and lyricist in this Hindi film song.
  • Mainu Kaala Chashma Jachda Ey - This hit track was a reinterpretation of a Punjabi song originally released in a 2000 album of the same title by the Punjabi folk artist Amar Arshi. Amar Arshi had also re-recorded the song just a few months before the release of this film for the music label Angel Records. He had no idea at that time that the song would be re-created by Badshah for a Hindi film.[4]
  • Mainu Kaala Chashma Jachda Ey - The tune of this song was plagiarised for the Hindi film song "Jai Maa" ("Behen Hogi Teri", 2017).[5]
