Actress Chitrangada Singh walked out of the film midway through its making. She alleged that she was harassed during the film's shooting. She accused director Kushan Nandy of behaving disrespectfully with her while shooting an intimate scene with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Singh also blamed Siddiqui for not standing up for her while this was going on. Nandy denied these allegations. According to him, Singh quit because she had wanted some changes in the film's script and he had refused. She was replaced by Bidita Bag.[1]
Singer Orunima Bhattacharya made her Hindi film debut with two songs in this film.
Song
Haay Re Haay Mera Ghungta - This was the re-created version of a song from the film "Dhongee" (1975). The original song was composed by R.D. Burman, sung by Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar, and written by Anand Bakshi. R.D. Burman's song itself was an adaptation of a popular Baul folk song - "Menoka Mathaye Dilo Ghomta".[2]
