Trivia

    Album

  • This Ranjit Barot album traces the origin of the universe. Each track on the album is named (and composed) sequentially based on various stages of the universe's origin. [1]

    Song

  • T = 0 - This track, originally called "Lullaby", starts with the tune of a traditional lullaby played on the flute. Its name was later changed to align with the album's concept.[2]
  • Revolutions - Ranjit Barot dedicated this track to the American jazz alto saxophonist, Charlie Mariano, who also played the nadaswaram. The track is based on the traditional Mallari composition, typically played on the nadaswaram during procession of temple deities. It was only later that Ranjit Barot found out that Mallari happened to be Charlie Mariano's favorite song.[3]
  • Supernova - This track dedicated to Ustad Allah Rakha features his sons, Taufiq Qureshi and Zakir Hussain.[4]
  • Dark Matter - This track is perhaps bass player, Mohini Dey's earliest recordings. She was introduced to Ranjit Barot the previous year by her father. After playing a few gigs with him, she recorded her final take on this song on her fourteenth birthday.[5]
