Album

• This film, the directorial debut of Prem Kapoor, was based on Kamleshwar's first novel "Badnam Gali" which was also published under the title "Ek Sadak Sattavan Galiyan". It was perhaps the first Hindi film that dealt with homosexuality, albeit superficially.[1]
• The original release of this film in 1971 had an 'A' rating. It was re-released after cuts in 1978 with a 'U' rating.
• All prints of this film were presumed to be lost. However, a screening of this film was planned at The Block Museum, Evanston, USA in March 2020. The event was attributed to a "new digital transfer from the only known 35mm print. Courtesy of Arsenal Institute for Film and Video Art, Berlin.".[2]
• This was flautist Vijay Raghav Rao's debut Hindi film as a music director.

Song

• Mele Mein Khoi Gujariya - This was the first Hindi film song to feature Harivansh Rai Bachchan's lyrics. It was perhaps the only Hindi film song the poet himself sang.
• Sajna Kaahe Naahi Aaye - Hindustani classical musician Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan debuted as a Hindi film playback singer in this song.
• Godaniya Gudwaay Le - This appears to be the only Hindi film song sung by Kamala Kapoor, the mother of actor Annu Kapoor. She was credited as Kamal Shabnam in this film.
