Trivia
- This was a remake of Gemini's Telugu film "Bala Nagamma" (1942). The same film was remade again in Telugu in 1959 with the same title.
- This was the first Hindi film of the popular South Indian actress Savitri.
- S.S. Vasan was shooting a scene involving the film's heroine and villain when he overheard a young set worker telling his colleague about a potential issue in it. Vasan agreed with his view and called off the day's shooting schedule. The filmmaker discarded the footage that had already been shot for the scene, changed the script to address the issue, and reshot the scene.[1]
- Only four Lata Mangeshkar solos from the film were issued on music records. Most of the remaining songs were short, group songs.
