Trivia

    Album

  • This film was produced in Hindi and Bengali languages simultaneously. In Bengali, it was released with the title "Anusandhan", the name of the Bengali novel written by Shaktipada Rajguru on which the film was based. "Anusandhan" was the highest-grossing Bengali film of its time.[1]
  • Amitabh Bachchan had tweeted in 2018 that he had worn a jacket for a recent ad shoot that was inspired by a jacket he had worn in this film.[2]

    Song

  • Manchali O Manchali Kaun Si Hai Yeh Gali - R.D. Burman's tune for this song was adapted from the Bengali film song "Sundari Lo Sundari" ("Samar", 1950), composed by his father S.D. Burman. S.D. Burman had also used this tune for the Hindi film song "Anari Anari Re" ("Munimji", 1955). Incidentally, "Sundari Lo Sundari" ("Samar", 1950) was Kishore Kumar's first Bengali film song.[3][4]
