Trivia

    Album

  • Raj Kapoor had his one-time assistant director Rahul Rawail direct this film. This was the first film produced by R.K. Films in more than two decades that was directed by someone from outside Raj Kapoor's family. Prior to this, the last R.K. Films movie not directed by a Kapoor was "Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai" (1960) by Radhu Karmakar. All films produced by R.K. Films after this were directed by Kapoors as well.[1]

    Song

  • Gori Ho Kaali Ho - The tune of this song's mukhda may have inspired the song "Gori Ka Saajan Saajan Ki Gori" ("Aakhree Raasta", 1986) composed by Laxmikant - Pyarelal.[2]
  • Waqt Se Pehle Kismat Se Zyada - This song ends with the tune of the famous waltz "Waves Of The Danube" by Iosef Ivanovici, which was later used by Al Jolson in the "Anniversary Song" (1947). The tune was used as a motif in various Raj Kapoor films, and also by Anu Malik for the song "Hamesha Hamesha" ("Hameshaa", 1997).[3][4]
