Trivia

    Album

  • The film was a big hit and was remade in other languages - in Tamil as "Enga Mama" (1970) and in Telugu as "Devudu Mavayya" (1981).
  • Shammi Kapoor's character in this film may have inspired Anil Kapoor's character in the film "Mr. India" (1987).[1]

    Song

  • Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche - This blockbuster hit song by Shankar - Jaikishan was passed over in two films - "Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai" (1961) and "Suraj" (1966) - before Shammi Kapoor okayed it for this 1968 film.[2][3][MR15]
  • Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche - Director Bhappi Sonie had wanted Mumtaz to wear a saree for this song. When the actress expressed her discomfort performing the dance moves for the song in a saree, Bhappi Sonie had designer Bhanu Athaiya come up with an improvised version of a saree that would not hamper her dancing. The song became a blockbuster hit and Athaiya's design became famous as the Mumtaz Saree.[MR15]
  • Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche - Manohari Singh played the saxophone in this song.[4]
