Trivia

    Album

  • The film was remade in Tamil as "Annavin Aasai" (1966).
  • Dulal Guha, Dharmendra, and Tanuja shared great camaraderie during the making of this film. According to Dharmendra, the three of them wanted to start a film production company called DDT (for Dulal, Dharmendra, Tanuja) but dropped the idea when they realised it was the name of an insecticide.[1]
  • This was director Dulal Guha's first film after he made his debut with "Ek Gaon Ki Kahani" (1957) and his first as a producer. He signed three films in the interim, "Patwaar", "Rahi Badal Gaye", and "Ek Akeli", but all of them were shelved.[2][3]

    Song

  • Baagh Mein Kali Khili - This was one of Salil Chowdhury's favourite compositions. He used its tune in a few other songs and background scores, including the Malayalam film song "Puthan Valakkare (Chaakara)" ("Chemmeen", 1965), the Bengali non-film song "Ja Re Ja Amaar Ashaar" (1965) sung by Sabita Chowdhury, and in an interlude in "Saathi Re Tujh Bin Jiya Udaas Re" ("Poonam Ki Raat", 1965).[4][5][6][7]
  • Jhanan Jhanan Baaje Bicchua Baaje - Salil Chowdhury had originally composed the tune of this song for the Bengali non-film song "Jhanana Jhanana Baaje Sur Bahaare" (1963) sung by Dhananjoy Bhattacharya.[8]
  • Tumhen Dil Se Chaha - Salil Chowdhury had used the tune of this song originally for the Bengali film song "Rupsaayarer Buke" ("Pasher Baadi", 1952) sung by Dhananjoy Bhattacharya.
  • Teri Yaad Na Dil Se Ja Saki - Salil Chowdhury had used the tune of this song previously for the Bengali non-film song "Ami Parini Bujhite" (1962) sung by Manabendra Mukherjee.[9]
  • Kisi Ne Jadoo Kiya - This song was shot but did not make it to the film's final cut.[10]
