This film was based on the Urdu novel "Jheel Jalti Hai" by Farooq Renzu Shah. Shah himself wrote the adapted screenplay.
This was the comeback film of Faisal Khan, the brother of Aamir Khan. His last film prior to this, "Chand Bujh Gaya" (2005), was with the same director, Sharique Minhaj.[1]
The film's opening credits listed music directors Salim Sen and Siddiq Sen and lyricists Jamil Ahmed and Salim Ashfee. However, the music release of the film on various digital platforms listed only Salim Sen and Jamil Ahmed.
