Trivia

    Album

  • Rishi Kapoor played a parodied version of himself in this film. The film's title was based on his real-life nickname and the film was released on his 57th birthday. The film opened with a message from Rishi Kapoor - "This film is part reality, part illusion and part fact, part fiction. This film is a tribute to my father, late Shri Raj Kapoor Saheb.".[1]
  • The Russian actress who appeared in this film, Ksenia Ryabinkina, had appeared in only one other Hindi film, "Mera Naam Joker" (1970). She played herself in this film and was shown giving Rishi Kapoor's character a book of photos from "Mera Naam Joker", while the music of "Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din" played in the background.[2][3]
  • This was writer Ranjit Kapoor's directorial debut. The film featured a few of his family members in acting roles - his daughter Grusha Kapoor, his brother Annu Kapoor and his mother Kamala Kapoor.
  • The film opened with elaborated dedications. These included - "Socrates, Plato - for Utopia, Republic; Narendra Sanyal - for Satyakaam (novel); Hrishikesh Mukherjee - for Satyakaam (film); Dharmendra - for Satyakaam (film); Ebrahim Alkazi - my Guru; Habib Tanvir - my Guru; Luigi Pirandello - for Illusion & Reality".[4]
