Trivia

    Album

  • Director T. Prakasha Rao had asked Shammi Kapoor to smile for a close-up shot during the shooting of a song in this film. The director had insisted on this shot even when Shammi Kapoor had questioned its logic. The actor then walked out of the set and T. Prakasha Rao decided never to work with him again. He had producer L.V. Prasad drop Shammi Kapoor from his next film "Sasural" (1961). Rajendra Kumar was chosen for the lead role of "Sasural" (1961) and Shammi Kapoor never worked with T. Prakasha Rao again.[1][MR15]
  • This was Shankar - Jaikishan's first film without lyricists Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri. According to one account, this act hurt Shailendra so much that he wrote a note to them gently rebuking them with words that he would go on to use in the mukhda of the song "Chhoti Si Yeh Duniya Pehchane Raaste Hain" ("Rungoli", 1962).[2][3][4]
  • After its opening credits sequence and before its beginning, the film displayed a frame carrying a quote attributed to the Prime Minister at the time, Jawaharlal Nehru - "The greatest revolution in a country is the one that affects the status and living conditions of its women.".

    Song

  • Hum Aur Tum Aur Yeh Sama Lovely Lovely Lovely - Rajendra Krishan used the first line of the mukhda of a song in the film "Dil Deke Dekho" (1959) in this song. Both songs featured Mohammed Rafi's voice and Shammi Kapoor on the screen.[5]
