Trivia

    Album

  • This film did not get a theatrical release in India because of its bold theme of the romance between a transvestite and a woman who starts cross-dressing after being raped.[1]
  • Writer and journalist Timeri N. Murari, who co-wrote the film's script, later adapted it for a stage play.
  • The Time magazine listed this film in its list of the ten best films of 1996.
  • This was the first film of what came to be known as director Amol Palekar's trilogy on sexuality. The other two films in the trilogy were the Marathi film "Anaahat" (2001) and the Marathi/English film "Thaang (The Quest)" (2006).[2]

    Song

  • Ek Main Aur Ek Tu - This was the debut Hindi film song of singer Jaspinder Narula.
