Trivia

    Album

  • The plot of this film was inspired by the Hollywood thriller "Sleeping with the Enemy" (1991) starring Julia Roberts. Two other films released at around the same time also had storylines inspired by the same film - "Yaraana" (1995) and "Agni Sakshi" (1996).[1][2]
  • This was the acting debut of Arbaaz Khan, the son of writer Salim Khan and the brother of actor Salman Khan.

    Song

  • Ye Pyar Pyar Kya Hai - This song was plagiarised from a qawwali by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, "Main Yaar Yaar Kehna". Another Hindi film song, "Nazren Ladgaiyaan" ("Bal Bramhachari", 1996), was also plagiarised from the same qawwali. The qawwali was also officially adapted for the song "Main Baar Baar Tanha Hua" ("Zero", 2018).[3][4][5]
  • Tera Chand Chehra - This song was part of the audio release but did not feature in the film. Anu Malik later reused this tune for his non-film song "Dhuan Dhuan" ("Ho Raha Hai Sama", 2006).[6]
  • Tera Chand Chehra - This was lyricist Shaheen Iqbal's debut Hindi film song.
  • Main Hi Main Har Taraf - Anu Malik had used the tune of this song's mukhda earlier in the prelude of the song "Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya" ("Akele Hum Akele Tum", 1995).[7]
