Trivia

    Album

  • Sunil Dutt made this film in memory of his wife Nargis who died in 1981 after battling with pancreatic cancer. He donated the proceeds from this film to the Tata Memorial Hospital. Dutt even offered the film to Pakistan and Bangladesh for free to help them raise money for cancer treatment.
  • This was the last Hindi film appearance of the South Indian actress Padmini.

    Song

  • Kaun Hoon Main Kya Naam Hai Mera - The tune of this song may have been inspired by the nursery rhymes "Polly Wolly Doodle" and "A Tisket A Tasket". A similar tune was also used in the Hindi film song "Beech Bajariya Paaon Pakad Kar" ("Madmast", 1953). "Polly Wolly Doodle" also inspired "Uthe Sabke Kadam" ("Baton Baton Mein", 1979). "A Tisket A Tasket" was adapted for two other Hindi film songs - "Bachpan O Bachpan Pyare Bachpan" ("Mem Didi", 1961) and "Ladna Jhagadna" ("Duplicate", 1998).[1][2][3][4][5][6]
