Trivia

    Album

  • This was Shah Rukh Khan's debut Hindi film. He landed this film only after the original choice for his role, Armaan Kohli, had walked out of it. The first film Shah Rukh had signed was "Maya Memsaab" (1993). He had also signed the film "Dil Aashna Hai" (1992) earlier but both these films were released only after this film.[1][2][3]
  • This was Raj Kanwar's directorial debut.
  • Shah Rukh Khan has said that he has not seen this film because he did not want to see his first and last films.[4]
  • Shah Rukh Khan did not work with Raj Kanwar for a long time after this film due to a misunderstanding that had developed between them during its making. He eventually made up with the director and appeared in a cameo in his film "Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega" (2000).[5][6]

    Song

  • Aisi Deewangi Dekhi Nahin Kahin - This hit song was an uncredited adaptation of the Kannada film song "Kanasalu Neene Manasalu Neene" ("Bayalu Dari", 1976), composed by Rajan - Nagendra.[7][8]
  • Sochenge Tumhe Pyar Karen Ke Nahin - Music director Deva reused the tune of this song for the Tamil film song "Mudhal Mudhalil Parthen" ("Aaha", 1997).[9]
  • Koi Na Koi Chahiye Pyar Karne Wala - This song appears to be adapted from "Bird Boy" by Nana Vasconcelos & The Bushdancers. This song itself may have been the basis of "Jaane Kya Hoga Rama Re" ("Kaante", 2002).[10][11][12]
