Trivia

    Album

  • The title of this film was taken from the Kabir doha "Rangi ko narangi kahe bane doodh ko khoya / Chalti ko gaadi kahe dekh Kabira roya". The title of the film "Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi" (1958) may also have been inspired by the same doha. Lyricist Shailendra used the same doha to open the song "Zindagi Khwab Hai" ("Jagte Raho", 1956).[1][2]
  • The film began after a message following the opening credits - "Truth is stranger than fiction. Comedy is exaggeration of truth".

    Song

  • Hum Panchhi Mastane - Only the voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Geeta Dutt are discernible in this song. However, a third singer, Seeta, was credited on the music records. It is possible that this singer lent her voice to the chorus and did not get any solo lines.
  • Tum Meri Raakho Laaj Hari - The song featured an uncredited male singer with an off-key voice.
