Trivia

    Album

  • Many scenes in this film were borrowed from films like "Ben Hur" (1959), "Pakeezah" (1972), "Yaadon Ki Baaraat" (1973) and "Sholay" (1975).[1]
  • Differences had developed between Lata Mangeshkar and Naushad while recording the songs for the film "Chambal Ki Raani" (1979). Naushad was therefore forced to use Asha Bhosle for the songs of this film. The last film in which he had used Asha's voice was "Sunehra Sansar" (1975). Lata and Naushad eventually resolved their differences and worked together for the music of "Teri Payal Mere Geet" (1993).[2][3][4][MR31]
  • Naushad had wanted Sulakshana Pandit to sing the two songs that were filmed on her in this movie, "Ghunghroo Toot Gaye" and "Tera Naam Liya Dil Thaam Liya". However, producer, director Sultan Ahmed had put his foot down and insisted that Asha Bhosle sing them.[MR31]
