Trivia

    Album

  • This was one of the four films directed by Manmohan Desai that were released in 1977. The other three films were "Chacha Bhatija" (1977), "Parvarish" (1977) and "Amar Akbar Anthony" (1977). Delayed by the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi in 1975, these films came three years after Desai's last film "Roti" (1974). While all four films were hits, "Amar Akbar Anthony" (1977) became a cult classic and established Manmohan Desai as Bollywood's premier film director.[1][2][3][4]
  • Dharmendra's son Bobby Deol made a cameo appearance in this film playing the younger version of Dharmendra's character in it.

    Song

  • Saat Ajube Is Duniya Mein (Happy) - The second antara of this song featured a line "Arey mushkil se kaaboo mein aaye ladki ho ya ghodi". When objections were raised over the sexist lyrics, the line was changed to "Arey mushkil se kaaboo mein aaye thodi dheel jo chhodi" in the film. However, the song's original lyrics were retained in the film's audio records.
  • Hum Banjaaron Ki Baat Mat Poochho Ji - The tune of this song's mukhda may have been inspired by the folk song "Misirlou" of Eastern Mediterranean origin. The earliest recordings of this folk song date back to the early 1900s. However, the song is probably most widely known for Dick Dale's surf rock instrumental cover, which was recorded in 1962 and used by Quentin Tarantino in his film "Pulp Fiction" (1994). Laxmikant - Pyarelal had adapted the same tune earlier for the Hindi film song "Raat Se Kaho Ruke Zara" ("Lootera", 1965).[5][6]
  • O Meri Mehbooba Mehbooba Mehbooba - A line from this song was sampled for a song in the film "Fukrey Returns" (2017).[7]
