Trivia

    Album

  • The film was adapted from a Hindi novel of the same name written by Acharya Chatursen Shastry.
  • Ashok Kumar had a prominent role in the film but was not credited for some reason. Also not credited was Dilip Kumar, who lent his voice as the film's narrator.
  • This was the debut film of actor Deven Verma.

    Song

  • Yeh Kiska Lahu Hai Kaun Maraa - Actor Rajendra Kumar made an uncredited cameo appearance in the film for this song as well as for delivering a speech in the film's climax. Part of the speech was voiced over the footage of a speech by the Indian Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
  • Jo Yeh Dil Diwana Machal Gaya (Mere Dilbar Mujhpar Khafa Na Ho) - Actress Shashikala made an uncredited cameo appearance in the film for this song.
  • Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindostan Hamara - This song was used in the film's opening credits but was not issued on music records. It was a version of a song N. Dutta had originally composed for the film "Bhai Bahen" (1959). While the original song was an Asha Bhosle solo, this was a duet sung by her and Mohammed Rafi. The original song used a Mohammed Iqbal couplet for its mukhda but the antaras were written by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. The lyrics of this song, however, were entirely from Iqbal's "Tarana-E-Hindi".[1]
