Trivia

    Album

  • This was Kiran Rao's directorial debut. She also wrote the film and co-produced it with her husband at the time, Aamir Khan. Aamir also acted in the film.
  • The plot of a section of this film involving Aamir Khan and Kriti Malhotra may have been inspired by an episode in the Pakistani TV serial "Kitni Girhain Baaqi Hain" (2011 - 2014) featuring actress Mawra Hocane.[1]
  • The photographs shot by Monica Dogra's character in this film were actually shot by photographer Jyotika Jain.[2]
  • This film was released internationally with the title "Mumbai Diaries". The film originally had both English and Hindi dialogues. Another version of the film was also released with the English lines dubbed in Hindi.
  • Aamir Khan got an agreement from theatres to not include an interval for this film.[3]
  • This was the debut Hindi film of actresses Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra. It was also Prateik Babbar's first film in a lead role. He had debuted previously in "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na" (2008), another Aamir Khan production.[4]
