Trivia

    Album

  • This was the debut film of director Hansal Mehta.
  • Abbas Tyrewala debuted as a lyricist in this film.
  • Residents of the Khar Danda Koliwada locality of Mumbai protested against dialogues in this film that they deemed offensive. On being pressured by an organisation called Bharati Vidyarthi Sena, director Hansal Mehta agreed to remove the lines in question from the film. A few days later, however, a large group of Koliwada residents accosted Mehta at his office. Despite apologising profusely, Mehta was abused and assaulted by the group. The group left after some women among them tore at his clothes and splattered black ink on him. The commercial failure of the film only compounded this humiliating experience. Many years later, Hansal Mehta adapted this real-life incident for a scene in his film "Shahid" (2013). Some of the posters of the 2013 film featured the blackened face of actor Raj Kumar who played the eponymous role.[1][2][3]

    Song

  • Paagal - This was the first film song for which Piyush Mishra wrote lyrics.[4]
