Trivia

    Album

  • The film was an adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Comedy Of Errors". Gulzar, who wrote the film's dialogues and lyrics and was its chief assistant director, went on to direct his own adaptation of the Shakespearean comedy - "Angoor" (1982). He referenced this film in "Angoor" (1982) by naming its female characters after the lead actresses of this film - Tanu after Tanuja and Sudha after Sudha Sharma. The film "Gustakhi Maaf" (1969) was another adaptation of "The Comedy of Errors". It featured two actors who played leading roles in the other two adaptations - this film and "Angoor" (1982). Sanjeev Kumar, who played one pair of twins in "Angoor" (1982), played the romantic interest of one of the twins, played by Tanuja, in "Gustakhi Maaf" (1969). Tanuja was also the romantic interest of one of the twins, played by Kishore Kumar, in this film. All these films were preceded by the Bengali film "Bhranti Bilas" (1963) which was based on Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar's play of the same name. The Bengali play itself was inspired by "The Comedy Of Errors".[1][2]

    Song

  • Hawaon Pe Likh Do Hawaon Ke Naam - Neetu Singh made an uncredited appearance in the film as the little girl in this song. Decades later, she appeared in another film of the same title in 2010.[3]
