Trivia

    Album

  • This was a bilingual film, made simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. In Telugu, the film's title was "Antham".
  • Other than the six songs that were common in both the versions of the film, this album had two extra songs that were not used in the film - the two versions of "Aise Humen Dekho Nahin".
  • The audio release of the Hindi version of this film credited only R.D. Burman as the music director. However, it has been established since then that one of the songs in the film was composed by Keeravani aka M.M. Kreem, and another by Mani Sharma. The Telugu film album credited the music directors accurately. This was the debut Hindi film of both M.M. Kreem and Mani Sharma.
  • This film was inspired by the James Hadley Chase novel "My Laugh Comes Last" (1977). When the film didn't work, director Ram Gopal Varma decided to make another film with the same story but without the mistakes he had made in this film. That film was "Satya" (1998).[1][2]
