Trivia

    Album

  • This was comedian Mehmood's last film as a director. He also acted in it. Three of his sons were associated with this film - Manzoor Ali played a lead role in the film, Masoom Ali co-produced it and Lucky Ali sang a song in it.
  • Shah Rukh Khan had a special appearance in this film. He played a role that Mehmood had come to be closely associated with in his heydays - a Hyderabadi with a toothbrush moustache.
  • It was Lucky Ali's drug abuse problem in his youth that inspired his father, Mehmood, to come up with the idea of this film. The film's original title was "Lucky Boy" and Mehmood wanted Lucky himself to play the lead role in it. Lucky, however, refused to do so since he did not like the film's script. The film was put on hold and revived later with a different title and with Mehmood's youngest son, Manzoor Ali, playing the role of Lucky in the film.[1]

    Song

  • Nasha Nasha - Singer Lucky Ali made his comeback in Hindi films with this song. He had debuted almost two decades ago in the Hindi film "Ek Baap Chhe Bete" (1978). Both films were directed by his father, Mehmood.[2]
  • Mere Naujawanon O Pyare Naujawanon - This song was based on the Hindi film song "Meri Pyari Bindu" ("Padosan", 1968), composed by R.D. Burman and sung by Kishore Kumar. It wasn't included in the film's music release. The song was picturised on Salman Khan who appeared as himself in a cameo role. He was dressed up as Kishore Kumar in the original song in "Padosan" (1968).[3]
