Trivia

    Album

  • This was the second of the three films in which producer Nitin Manmohan and director David Dhawan worked together. The titles of all three films were based on the titles of Hindi film songs. The title of this film was based on the song "Eena Meena Deeka" ("Aasha", 1957). The other two films in this series were "Bol Radha Bol" (1992) and "Chal Mere Bhai" (2000).[1][2][3]
  • The plot of this film appears to have been adapted from the Hollywood comedy "Three Fugitives" (1989).

    Song

  • Parody - One of the songs in this medley was a parody of the title song of "Amar Akbar Anthony" (1977) - a song both the lead actors of this film, Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor, had featured in. At the beginning of this song, Rishi Kapoor wore the same costume he had worn in the title song of "Amar Akbar Anthony". However, in the "Amar Akbar Anthony" portion of this medley Rishi Kapoor wore the costume Vinod Khanna had worn in the original song, and Vinod Khanna wore the costume Amitabh Bachchan had worn.[4]
  • Saiyan Ke Saath Madhaiya Mein - Poet Nida Fazli had accused Sameer of plagiarising a line from the poem he had published in his book "Mor Naach" (1978) - "Bada maza aaya ladai mein ke toot gayi choori kalai mein" - for the song "Saajan Tumse Pyar Ki Ladai Mein" ("Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya", 2005). Sameer denied the charge stating that he had reused his own lyrics for this song with changes.[5][6][7]
