Trivia

    Album

  • The plot of this film was inspired by the Hollywood film "An Affair to Remember" (1957), starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. "An Affair to Remember" (1957) itself was a remake of director Leo McCarey's own, older American film "Love Affair" (1939). The Hindi films "Bheegi Raat" (1965) and "Mann" (1999), and the Telugu film "Ravoyi Chandamama" (1999) also had similar plots.[1][2]
  • Shabana Azmi first with met with Anil Kapoor on the sets of this film. Her first impression of the novice actor was unfavourable. Based on Kapoor's flamboyant dress sense, Shabana Azmi assumed that he was an entitled, rich brat. However, as the shooting progressed, she was increasingly impressed with Anil Kapoor and his sincerity. This film marked the beginning of a long friendship between the two actors. In fact, it was on Shabana Azmi's recommendation that Anil Kapoor bagged his first film in a lead role, "Kahan Kahan Se Guzar Gaya" (1981).[3][4]

    Song

  • Raakh Ke Dher Ko Bikhra Gayi - It appears that the film's original audio release had two solo versions of this song - one each by Jagjit Singh and Aarti Mukherji. However, later releases had a duet version sung by Jagjit Singh and Aarti Mukherji, and a solo by Aarti Mukherji.
