Trivia

    Album

  • This was Sadhana's second film for the Filmalaya banner after "Love In Simla" (1960). She was paired with Joy Mukerji in both the films. Sadhana had a 3-year contract with the production house which paid her Rs. 750 per month in the first year, Rs. 1500 per month in the second year, and Rs. 3000 per month in the third year.[1][2]

    Song

  • Bahut Shukriya Badi Meharbani - The composition for this song may have been inspired by N. Dutta's song "Tere Pyar Ka Aasra Chahta Hoon" ("Dhool Ka Phool", 1959) which in turn may have been inspired by Hemant Kumar's "Mohabbat Mein Meri Tarah Jo Luta Ho" ("Shart", 1954).[3][4][MR4]
  • Mujhe Dekh Kar Aap Ka Muskurana - This song may have inspired the Jatin - Lalit song "Mujhe Raat Din Bas" ("Sangharsh", 1999). The same tune was also used by P. Nageswara Rao for the Telugu film song "O Cheli Kopama" ("Sri Krishna Tulabharam", 1966).[5][6]
  • Hum Ko Tumhare Ishq Ne - The tune for this song may have been inspired by S.D. Burman's "Tang Aa Chuke Hain Kashmakash-E-Zindagi Se Hum" ("Pyaasa", 1957).[7][MR3]
  • Main Pyar Ka Raahi Hoon - When the film didn't do well upon its original release, it was re-edited and released again. This song was excluded from the revised cut. The film went on to become a hit. Even though the song didn't feature in the film, it became one of Hindi cinema's enduring classics.
  • Zubaan-E-Yaar Man Turki - This song used the first line from a couplet by Amir Khusro as a refrain. The couplet went "Zaban-e-yaar-e-man Turki wa man Turki namee daanam / Che khush boode agar boode zabaanash dar-dahan-e-man".
