Trivia

    Album

  • Fatehchand U. Ramsinghani aka F.U. Ramsay ventured into film production with the film "Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh" (1954) and followed it up with period drama "Rustam Sohrab" (1963). This film had the same director, Vishram Bedekar, as well as the same lead actor, Prithviraj Kapoor, as "Rustam Sohrab" (1963). It flopped but gave the Ramsay family the idea to make a horror film, a genre that went on to become synonymous with them. F.U. Ramsay's sons Tulsi and Shyam discovered the market for horror films when they noticed that the film's opening scene elicited the strongest response from the audience. Many filmgoers would come to watch just the opening scene and leave after it. Set up as a horror scene, it involved Prithviraj Kapoor's character robbing a museum with a monster suit on. Encouraged by this response, the sons convinced their father to make a full-fledged horror film. The result - "Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche" (1972) - was a big hit and established the Ramsays as horror film specialists.[1][2][3][4]
