Trivia

    Album

  • Roop K. Shorey adapted this hit film for his last film as a producer and director - "Ek Thi Reeta" (1971). However, unlike the original film, "Ek Thi Reeta" (1971) was a flop.[1]

    Song

  • Dilli Se Aaya Bhai Tingu - The conductor seen on-screen for this song is actually composer Vinod (Eric Roberts) himself.
  • Dilli Se Aaya Bhai Tingu - The film's audio records wrongly used the word "Pingu" instead of "Tingu" in the title of this song.
  • Dilli Se Aaya Bhai Tingu - The music label Saregama credits Geeta Roy for this song. However, there have been speculations over the years attributing the song to other singers - music director Vinod's niece Honey O'Brien on whom the song was filmed, Vinita Amladi aka Binota Chakraborty, and Minal Wagh among them. In an interview in the July 2007 edition of the Listener's Bulletin published by Har Mandir Singh 'Hamraaz', Vinita Amladi settled the debate by clarifying that it was her voice in this song.
  • Lara Lappa Lara Lappa Laayi Rakhda - The original music record for this song credited "Meena & Chorus" for the vocals. It has been established since then that Meena referred to the actress on whom the song was filmed and that the main female singer in the song was actually Lata Mangeshkar. Other than Lata Mangeshkar, the song featured a prominent male voice, a male singer who sang a few phrases, and two less prominent female vocals. For some time, it was believed that the uncredited male vocals were G.M. Durrani and Mohammed Rafi's. In fact, Saregama officially credits these two singers in addition to Lata. However, according to record collector Jayaraman Subramaniam, who questioned G.M. Durrani and Satish Batra about this, the prominent male voice in the song was Batra's. The identity of the other singers remains unknown. In an interview in the July 2007 edition of the Listener's Bulletin published by Har Mandir Singh 'Hamraaz', Vinata Amladi said that she lent her voice to the chorus in this song.
