Trivia

    Album

  • This was actress Sridevi's comeback film. Not considering a much-delayed release and a cameo role, her last film before this was released 15 years ago - "Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha" (1997).[1]
  • This was Gauri Shinde's debut as a writer and director. The film was inspired by her mother. Shinde's husband R. Balki was one of the producers of the film.[2]
  • This film was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. While some scenes in the film were shot afresh for the South Indian versions, the rest of it had Tamil and Telugu lines dubbed over the Hindi dialogues.
  • Amitabh Bachchan appeared in the film in a cameo role. He had shot for both the Hindi and the Tamil versions of the film initially. It was later decided to use the Tamil film star Ajith instead of him for the film's Tamil release. The film opened with the following tribute - "100 years of Indian cinema. 70 years of Amitabh Bachchan. Happy birthday Amitji. Thank you."[3]
  • Tamil film actor Ajith reportedly did not charge a fee for his cameo role in the film since he wanted to work with Sridevi. He even made his own travel and stay arrangements for shooting his scenes.[4]

    Song

  • English Vinglish (Female Version) - Amit Trivedi was not credited in this song but provided the backup vocals in it.
  • Navrai Maajhi - This was the debut Hindi film song of lyricist Swanand Kirkire's mother, Neelambari Kirkire. With Swanand also lending his voice to the song, this was a rare Hindi film song that featured a mother-son pair.
