Trivia

    Album

  • This was the first Indian film to have a digital-only music release.
  • Priya Panchal and Jigar Saraiya met during the making of this movie. They would go on to get married two years later. Theirs was not love at first sight. Jigar's family was matchmaking for him at the time. Priya, along with Sachin Sanghvi, had even attended his meetings with some of the potential matches. When things didn't work out after a few meetings, Sachin asked Priya and Jigar why they didn't get married. Jigar agreed readily but it took some doing to convince Priya. She finally agreed and the two got married in 2013. Priya didn't have any credits in this film but went on to debut in "Yeh Dooriyan" (2011) in which she worked with music directors Meet Bros Anjjan. She worked extensively with Sachin - Jigar in the years to come starting with "additional lyrics" credits in "Shor In The City" (2011) and "Hum Tum Shabana" (2011).[1][2][3][4]
  • Producer Vashu Bhagnani wanted to work with a fresh cast and crew to relaunch his son Jackky Bhagnani in this film. Jackky had previously debuted in the film "Kal Kissne Dekha" (2009) which had not worked at the box office. Choreographer Remo D'Souza debuted as a director in this film. It was also the debut film of its lead actress Puja Gupta, who had been crowned Miss India Universe in 2007.[5]
  • The plot of this film appears to have been inspired by the Hollywood comedy "Accepted" (2006).

    Song

  • Chaar Baj Gaye Party Abhi Baaki Hai - This song took Sachin - Jigar a lot of time to compose. When asked about the song's progress, they would say "abhi baaki hai". At one point, Jigar said "party abhi baaki hai" and the line made it's way to the songs hook lyrics.
  • Chaar Baj Gaye Party Abhi Baaki Hai - In May 2019, lyricist Sameer appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show and talked about how his kids had inspired him to write the modern lyrics for this song. Rap artist Hard Kaur, who had sung this song, reacted to Sameer's statement on the show strongly. She stated that the song's lyrics were in fact hers. Sachin - Jigar had approached her with the line "party abhi baaki hai" and asked her to write the song's lyrics around it. They had also requested her to relinquish her songwriting credits to Sameer and had promised to work with her again. Hard Kaur had accepted their condition at the time but could not accept Sameer bragging on the TV show about how he wrote the song. When asked to respond to the rapper's allegation, Sameer insisted that the song was his but refused to elaborate further. Sachin - Jigar responded to Hard Kaur's claim by saying that the song was "a collaborative effort and the best lines were picked". Hard Kaur, however, continued to stand by her claim.[6][7]
  • Chaar Baj Gaye Party Abhi Baaki Hai - This popular song was the first big breakthrough in the career of music director Sachin - Jigar.
  • Gale Laga Le - Priya Panchal made her debut as a playback singer in this song by chance. Music directors Sachin - Jigar had reached out to Priya over Facebook and asked her if she would be willing to write scratch lyrics for them for this film. When Priya had visited them, they had given her a tune to write lyrics to. She had taken an autorickshaw home and had managed to complete the song's lyrics by the time she reached home. When she sent Sachin - Jigar the lyrics, they immediately called her in to record the scratch track. On hearing the scratch track, director Remo D'Souza had not only approved the tune but had also insisted on Priya Panchal singing the song's final version.[8]
  • O Teri - This song featured a line from the mukhda of Jagjit Singh's "Hothon Se Chhoo Lo Tum" ("Prem Geet", 1981). While the audio version of the song featured the original line, the version in the film went "Haathon Se Chhoo Lo Tum".[9]
