Trivia

    Album

  • This was the debut Hindi film of actress Zahira. She had shot to fame after featuring in the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1969).
  • Shatrughan Sinha had gotten a role in this film on Dev Anand's recommendation. Dev Anand had recommended Sinha for this film to compensate for the insignificant role he had given the newcomer in the film "Prem Pujari" (1970).[1][MR35]
  • Shatrughan Sinha had gotten so carried away while shooting a scene with Dev Anand for this film that he had gotten physical with the senior actor and delivered lines that were not in the script. Director Amar Jeet had intervened and reprimanded Sinha, but Dev Anand had graciously defended him.[MR35]
  • Zaheeda had turned down the next film she was offered with Dev Anand - "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" (1971) - because she felt that after being romantically paired with Dev Anand in "Prem Pujari" (1970) and this film, being cast as his sister in "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" (1971) would be a step-down. Zaheeda's refusal became Zeenat Aman's gain - her role in "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" (1971) made Aman a star overnight.[2][3]

    Song

  • Mera Man Tera Pyasa - This was one of the three Hindi film songs that featured in the Jim Carey film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (2004). The other two songs were "Tere Sang Pyar Main Nahin Todna" ("Nagin", 1976) and "Wada Na Tod" ("Dil Tujhko Diya", 1987).[4][5]
