Trivia

    Album

  • This was Mazhar Khan's only film as a producer and director. The film was delayed by many years and was released two years after he passed away. Work on the film had started in 1989 but was delayed due to his health issues and eventual death. It was his one-time assistant Mashkoor Chowdhry who completed the film. Chowdhry was credited as an Associate Director in the film.[1]
  • Two of the lead actors of this film, Jackie Shroff and Nana Patekar, had worked with Mazhar Khan earlier, in the film "Angaar" (1992).[2]
  • R.D. Burman, the film's original music director, passed away after recording just one song for it. Anu Malik was brought in to replace him.

    Song

  • Dil Hai Bechain Aaja - Anu Malik reused the tune of R.D. Burman's title music for "Caravan" (1971) in this song. R.D. Burman's instrumental track itself was an adaptation of Maurice Jarre's main title theme for the film "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962).[3][4]
  • Aaj Tu Maang Le - Portions of this song were plagiarised from George Michael's "Careless Whisper" (1984).[5]
