Trivia

    Album

  • This was actor Om Prakash's first film as a producer and his second film - after "Duniya Gol Hai" (1955) - as a director. He also acted in the film.[1]
  • Om Prakash had conceived this film with Madhubala in mind. The film was about a wealthy, young woman on the run from her evil uncle. It told the story of her run-ins with various characters over the period of one night. When Om Prakash approached Ataullah Khan, Madhubala's father, he was met with resistance - the actress did not work night shifts. Om Prakash then insisted on meeting with Madhubala. The actress accepted the role after hearing the film's story. Her father apparently had a change of heart. He not only gave the film his blessing but also reduced Madhubala's fee for the role. The film was shot in Bombay over twenty days. To ensure Madhubala's safety and comfort, Om Prakash booked a suite for her at The Taj for the period.[MR62]
  • The film featured two pairs of brothers as actors - Om Prakash and Pachhi and Johnny Walker and Tony Walker. The characters played by the Walker brothers - their real names were Badruddin and Kamaluddin - were named Johnny Walker and Tony in the film as well.

    Song

  • Yeh Raah Badi Mushkil Hai - The band Chic Chocolate & His Music Makers made an on-screen appearance for this Geeta Dutt song filmed on Anita Guha. Chic Chocolate was a Goan trumpet player and a prominent Hindi film music arranger in the 1950s. The band was prominently featured in the film's opening credits as "Courtesy Appearance - Chic Chocolate & His Music Makers".
  • Sapne Mein Sajan Se Do Baaten - Shankar, Om Prakash's character in this film, is shown to be a big fan of a singer named Leela Mukherjee. In a scene in which he insists on playing a record of her song for Madhubala's character, images of Lata Mangeshkar were used for Leela Mukherjee. The available prints of the film show an abrupt cut in the scene in which Shankar is supposed to have played this Lata Mangeshkar song. It is unclear if this song was edited out of the film at the time of its release or later.
