Trivia

    Album

  • Actor Akshay Kumar made an uncredited appearance in this film as a child artist.

    Song

  • Kherishu Varishu - Lyricist Gulshan Bawra came up with phrase used in the title of this song after an incident in Kashmir in which he overheard two men talking and misunderstood one of them saying "Can I shoot?" and the other replying "Yes, shoot.". It was only later that he understood the words they had actually exchanged. In Kashmiri, "kherishu" means "How are you?" and "varishu" means "I am fine".
  • Tere Liye Palkon Ki Jhalar Bunoon - The santoor in this song was played by Pandit Ulhas Bapat.
  • Tujh Sa Hasin Dekha Na Kahin - R.D. Burman had originally composed this song for a film called "Zabardast" which was in production at the same time as this film. The hero of this film Randhir Kapoor had fallen in love with the tune when Burman had played the song during a music session for this film and had asked him if it could be used for this film. The composer had turned down Randhir Kapoor's request stating that he could not give him a song that had been recorded for another film. Besides, the originally recorded song made prominent use of the word "Zabardast" which would not fit in this film. Sometime later, Burman told Randhir Kapoor that "Zabardast" had been shelved and that the song he had loved could now be used in this film. This song was then recorded for the film with new lyrics in which the word "Zabardast" was replaced by "Kashmakash" and "Gulbadan". Director Nasir Husain eventually made another film titled "Zabardast" (1985) but it was based on a completely different script.[1][MR14]
