- Part of this film was inspired by the plot of the Hindi film "Pyar Kiye Ja" (1966), which in turn was a remake of the hit Tamil comedy "Kadhalikka Neramillai" (1964). The Tamil film was also remade in Telugu as "Preminchi Choodu" (1965). The Kannada film "Preethi Madu Thamashe Nodu" (1979) and the Marathi film "Dhoom Dhadaka" (1985) also had similar plots.[1]
- This was the first film produced by Smita Thackeray, who at the time was married to Jaidev Thackeray, the son of the Shiv Sena supremo, Bal Thackeray.
