Trivia

    Album

  • This was Prakash Mehra's directorial debut. Prior to this, he had written the lyrics for a couple of films and played assorted roles as a crew member in a few films. Interestingly, while this film had Babita as the female lead, Mehra's last film "Bal Bramhachari" (1996) had her daughter Karisma Kapoor as the female lead.[1]
  • This was one of the two films in which Shashi Kapoor was paired with actress Babita. The other film was "Ek Shriman Ek Shrimati" (1969). Babita went on to get married to Shashi Kapoor's nephew Randhir Kapoor in 1971.[2]
  • Kafeel Aazar was one of the lyricists listed in the film's opening credits. However, the film's audio records did not credit him for any song.
  • The plot of this film was adapted for the film "Aasmaan" (1984) many years later. While Shashi Kapoor played the lead role in this film, his nephew Rajeev Kapoor played the lead role in the 1984 film.[3]
  • Actor, writer Kader Khan met Prakash Mehra for the first time during the making of this film. Mehra was shooting for this film at the M.H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering at the time and Khan happened to be a lecturer there. The director sought Khan's help to fix a dialogue he was not happy with. Khan obliged and Mehra was pleased with the result. Kader Khan went on to write for several films directed by Mehra, including "Muqaddar Ka Sikandar" (1978), "Laawaris" (1981), and "Sharaabi" (1984).[4][5][6][7]
