Trivia

    Album

  • This film was a remake of director K. Raghavendra's 1983 blockbuster Hindi film of the same title. The 1983 Hindi film itself was a remake of a Telugu film by the same director - "Ooriki Monagadu" (1981). The original Hindi film starred Jitendra and Sridevi. It is remembered for making Sridevi a big star in Hindi films after a successful run in Tamil films. Asrani worked in both versions of the film.[1]
  • This was actress Tamannaah Bhatia's comeback in Hindi films after her debut in "Chand Sa Roshan Chehra" (2005). Tamannaah had built a successful career in Tamil and Telugu films after her Hindi debut.[2]
  • Director Sajid Khan dedicated the film to his father Kamran Khan and to wrestler, actor Dara Singh with whom his father made several B-grade films in the 1960s and 1970s. According to him, his work was influenced by his father's "school of filmmaking of being larger-than-life". Dara Singh's son Vindu had an acting role in this film.[3]

    Song

  • Naino Mein Sapna - This was the recreated version of a song originally composed by Bappi Lahiri for "Himmatwala" (1983). While the male vocals in this version were Amit Kumar's, the original version featured his father, Kishore Kumar.[4]
  • Taaki O Taaki - This was the recreated version of a song originally composed by Bappi Lahiri for "Himmatwala" (1983). The original song was sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle.[5]
  • Dhoka Dhoka - This song featured lines in five languages other than Hindi. A different actress performed the lines of each of these languages. The Bengali lines were performed by Sayantani Ghosh, Marathi by Amruta Khanvilkar, Bhojpuri by Rinku Ghosh, Punjabi by Surveen Chawla, and Gujarati by Mona Thiba.
  • Thank God It's Friday - The tune of this song was composed by Sachin - Jigar for an earlier film produced by Vashu Bhagnani. However, the composition had remained unused. When director Sajid Khan heard the tune, he liked it and decided to use it for this song.[6]
  • Thank God It's Friday - Sonakshi Sinha made a cameo appearance in the film for this song.
