Trivia

    Album

  • Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, the makers of the Bengali film "Ramdhanu" (2014), levelled charges of plagiarism against the makers of this film. The Bengali film was officially remade in Malayalam as "Salt Mango Tree" (2015). Mukherjee and Roy withdrew their case later, after writer, director Saket Chaudhary proved his film's originality.[1][2][3]
  • The film was a sleeper hit. Following its critical and commercial success, it was spun off into its spiritual successor "Angrezi Medium" (2020). Irrfan Khan played the lead role in both films.[4]
  • This was the debut Hindi film of the Pakistani actress Saba Qamar. Irrfan Khan recommended her to the makers of the film after he saw her videos on YouTube. Qamar did not participate in the film's promotions due to the prevailing tensions between India and Pakistan following the 2016 Uri attack.[5]

    Song

  • Tenu Suit Suit Karda - This was a recreated version of a popular Punjabi non-film song released in 2016. It was Guru Randhawa and Rajat Nagpal's debut Hindi film song.[6]
  • Oh Ho Ho Ho (Ishq Tera Tadpaave) - Remix - This was a remixed version of the biggest hit song of the Bhangra-pop artist Sukhbir. The original song was released in 1999 in the album "Hai Energy".[7][8]
  • Ek Jindari Meri Sau Khwahishan - This was the solo Hindi film debut of Tanishka Sanghvi, the daughter of music director Sachin Sanghvi. She had debuted as a playback singer earlier in the Hindi film song "Vande Mataram" ("ABCD: Any Body Can Dance - 2", 2015). Sachin - Jigar recorded a reprised version of the song in Tanishka's voice for the film "Angrezi Medium" (2020).[9][10]
  • Man Laagyo Mero Yaar Fakiri Mein - This song was not part of the film's initial music release. It was released separately as a single.
