Trivia

    Album

  • This film was adapted from Akira Kurosawa's "Tengoku To Jigoku" (1963). Kurosawa's film itself was loosely based on Ed McBain's novel "King's Ransom" (1959). This Hindi film was later remade in Telugu as "Dongala Veta" (1979).
  • This was Raj N. Sippy's directorial debut. His brother Romu N. Sippy produced the film. The brothers had jointly produced three films before it. It was the first film in which they split their responsibilities. Except "Sadma" (1983), which they produced together, Raj Sippy was the director and Romu Sippy the producer of all their future films.[1]

    Song

  • O Mungda Mungda Main Gud Ki Dali - This hit song was recreated by Gourov - Roshin for the Hindi film "Total Dhamaal" (2019). The song also inspired the lyrics of the hook line of a song in the film "Commando" (2013).[2][3]
