The story of this film was written by the younger brother of director Sudhir Mishra, Sudhanshu Mishra, who passed away in 1995. The film was dedicated to his memory. Sudhanshu Mishra's story was based on a real-life experience. While he was studying at FTII, Sudhanshu picked up a fight with a stranger and had to go into hiding when he learnt that the man was an underworld don.[1]
Sudhir Mishra's "Yeh Saali Zindagi" (2011) was initially titled "2 Days, 2 Nights & A Morning" and was promoted as a sequel of sorts to this film.[2][3]
This was music director M.M. Kreem's first Hindi film as a singer.
This was the first film in which music director M.M. Kreem and lyricist Nida Fazli worked together. When Fazli was visiting Kreem at his Chennai studio, he had a difficult time locating the composer. He later found out that he should have been asking for Keeravani, the name Kreem was more popularly known by in the South. Fazli also learnt that he was credited as Maragathamani in Tamil films. Shocked that the composer had three names for three film industries, he is said to have asked Kreem, "Do you think of yourself as God?"! Fazli and Kreem worked together again in "Sur" (2002).[4][5]
